No one size fits all... Period!
Ever wonder why it is that you've driven yourself crazy trying to follow a diet that made a friend or family member feel AMAZING? Why is that, no matter how strictly you follow this 'perfect' diet, you feel drained, frustrated and a like a failure?? The truth is, it's not you! It's not even the food! It's the fact that, at that moment, your body did not need or want the nutrients that those foods were supplying. The truth is, that THERE IS NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL DIET. We are all amazing, whole and unique in our own way. So why do we always revert back to the belief that what worked for someone else, will work for us too???
Once we step away from the beliefs that have been drilled into us for decades, and start to focus on what our individual body needs, that's where the magic begins. That's when we start to appreciate how amazing, communicative and sensitive we are as human beings. I love working with individuals and helping them to tune into what their body is asking them for. This really is a skill that will last a life time.

The reality is, what works for us this month, could be completely different to what we need to thrive next month, next week or even tomorrow! Our environment, age, menstrual phase (for menstruating women), the season, stress levels, activity level, our immune system, hormones, calorie burning metabolism and an almost infinite number of factors effect our daily nutritional needs. So i'm sure you will agree, it makes sense that we adapt our diet as these factors change.
Now obviously I am not saying that our diet has to be constantly changing. Far from it! But it is important to acknowledge that over our lifetime, we can't expect the same diet to work for us year in year out. The great thing about this is that it gives us an opportunity to switch things up a bit! To experiment with new foods, flavours, recipes, cultures.... How great is that?!?!

But my ultimate aim, is to educate my clients so that they can tune in to what they need to eat to nourish their body not just whilst I am working for them, but for the rest of their lives!

You may even find that you can reduce your medication over time (DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT CONSULTING WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!).
But even if it is was simply an adjunct to medication, given your body the nutrients to support you in your road to recovery so that you can enjoy the day to day activities that mean so much to you. Wouldn't that be worth while or at least worth giving it a try?

No more relying on other people to 'fix me' (by the way.... there is no fixing going on on my watch! YOU ARE NOT BROKEN!!!). For the first time, I realised that my health was in my hands.
